In 2015, Mamkhulu.org has added 2 new youth facilitators from Schoemansdal, at Lugebhuta Secondary School.  Their names are Senzo Simelane and Thabile Nkosi.

The 2014 team, many of whom have worked for Mamkhulu.org for the past 4 years, will be retiring.  The funding has ended and we are seeking new funding for them to continue in their crucial roles in their schools.  Anyone who would like to sponsor one of them, please contact the Mamkhulu.org website for more information.

Youth Facilitator Training & Camps

Each year our 22 youth facilitators are involved in week long training sessions on various topics relevant to their work.  In 2012, the training took place at 10,000 Homes in White River, as well as at the Litsemba Centre in Daantjie.

In 2013, another 4 training camps were held.  The focus was on counseling skills, further training in how to assist the children in their schools to get documents, setting up clothing banks in the schools and general personal development.  Most of the 22 youth were also involved in the Activate Leadership programme running in Johannesburg, where they went on training courses for 9 days, 3 times each year for the next 3 years.  At the end of all this training they will be ready to start their own development programmes in their communities.
