What's New at Mamkhulu.org?

                       Leadership Training 2019

In March 2019, Mamkhulu.org held a 3 day training event at Ekukhanyeni, The Place of Light, for 15 of its youth team.  Mbongiseni Nkosi and Prue Grominsky (of Kitchener, ON, Canada) led the group through a series of exercises, to grow and encourage our team to become the leaders of this great nation, South Africa.

They climbed the mountain in the dark, under the stars, and sang and danced, enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful view by moonlight.  What an adventure!!

March 2019 Holiday Club

A Holiday Club was held at the Litsemba Centre from March 18-22 for 70 children living around the centre in Daantjie.  The club was run by the participants involved in the President's Award programme.  Volunteer, Prue Grominsky played a prominent role in seeing that the children had a wonderful time.

Newmarket, Canada, gets behind the drive to support Mamkhulu
Heather Stephens and guests from Reach Out To Africa had the opportunity to present to a group of influential community leaders in Newmarket, Canada.
Images of the lives changed through the years of the programme, and a description of new potential with a prospective camp property, and an expanded number of children to be supported, inspired all who were present.

OPTIONS Pregnancy Crisis Programme opens at Litsemba Centre
The OPTIONS Crisis Pregnancy Programme opened it's doors at the Litsemba Centre in October. This programme provides much needed counseling and support to girls who have choices to make about their pregnancies. Youth for Christ, Nelspruit, runs the programme 2 days per week. Girls are taught parenting and income generation skills.

Hope Camps 2018

In June and July 2018, Mamkhulu.org, in partnership with Reachout to Africa, Canada, ran 2 camps for double orphans at Ekukhanyeni Christian Retreat Centre just outside of Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, South Africa.

The camps catered for 40 double orphans at each camp.  The children were chosen from our 7 partner schools around Ehlanzani District.  The first camp was for high school learners and our second camp was for primary school learners.

Our team consisted of 15 youth leaders, 5 staff members and 2 Canadian volunteers.  The fruit of the camps was that 64 kids gave their lives to the Lord.

In December 2018 we are running 2 more camps, one for girls aged 8-14 and one for boys aged 15-19 years.  The outcomes of the camps are stunning and encouraging as we are able to refer children in dire circumstances for government help and support.
