11 January 2011

For 2011, my vision is to get the after school and home work support programmes up and running and relaunch the Hope Clubs and add new ones at new schools.  2010 was a successful year, in terms of programmes and the number of children reached by the support we supplied.

Moving into the Litsemba Centre has been challenging because we were trying to run programmes at the same time as renovating, but we managed.  During the time we were renovating we had to run the soccer camps, and they were a success despite the centre not being finished.  The other challenge has been getting the guys to live and work together who are staying at the centre.  They are having to come up with plans every day to maintain the centre, keep it clean, figure out where to put the garbage as there is no garbage pick up, etc.  But we are getting along very well and working together.  We have had lots of support from the neighbours such as Make Constance, who checks up on us every day and helps us when we need something.
